ExtraCare® Health Card

As part of your membership benefits, we are pleased to offer the ExtraCare® Health Card, a valuable benefit that may save you and your family hundreds of dollars every year.

You may be familiar with the CVS ExtraCare® "red card" available to all CVS customers. The ExtraCare Health Card program is available to members only and provides all the benefits of the "red card" plus an additional 20% discount on CVS Health brand healthcare items that are not already discounted.

Alliance Members will receive a welcome letter with a web link to start the 20% discount activation process. If you already have the ExtraCare red card, you can link the two programs and take advantage of all the benefits available in both programs. If you don't have the ExtraCare red card, your welcome letter from CVS will give you instructions on how to set up an account.

Members will receive a 20% discount* off of thousands of CVS Pharmacy® brand health-related items valued at $1 or more (excluding sale items) at any of the more than 6,300 CVS Pharmacy stores nationwide, online at or by accessing the CVS mobile app. Eligible items include:

  • Pain Relievers
  • Stomach Remedies
  • First Aid
  • Eye and Ear Care
  • Baby Care
  • Home Diagnostics
CVS Pharmacy brands are of the same high quality as national brands, but cost much less. Members can save 20% - 40% as compared to a national brand when using the ExtraCare Health Card to purchase the already low priced CVS Pharmacy brand health-related products.

*The 20% discount is restricted to items purchased for the health card of the cardholder only and applies to regularly priced CVS Health Brand health-related items valued at $1 or more. Your ExtraCare® Health Benefit may not be used in Target stores including those with a CVS Pharmacy® in them. Excludes alcohol, lottery, money orders, prescriptions and copays, pseudoephedrine/ephedrine products, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, gift cards, newspapers and magazines, milk (where required by law or regulation), bottle deposits, bus passes, hunting and fishing licenses, any imposed governmental fees, or items reimbursed by a government health plan.
